The Fabulous Paulo Araujo from Rio de Janeiro

Returns to the San Francisco Bay Area January 6-25, 2006

Paulo is one of the most beloved teachers to visit the Bay area, and comes
about twice yearly. This will be his 7th visit. His style is unique,
meditative, and intuitive. His lead light and subtle, usually in close
embrace. He follows the best milonguero traditions of Argentina while
maintaining an ability to create and innovate steps all his own. His dance
vibrates with playful rhythms and the joy of his Brazilian culture, while
maintaining the intensity and passion of authentic Argentine tango. He is able
to reduce complex movements to elemental basics. He has taught in festivals
worldwide, most recently focusing on Italy, Slovenia and Mexico. He has been
called the "best tango teacher in Brazil" and has won plaudits for his work at
the Portland Tango Festival (see their webpage).
