The Tango Club of Albuquerque presents Brigitta Winkler & Tomas Howlin for
our first workshop of 2006: Friday - Sunday, January 13-15. Registration is
still open for the weekend including 5 workshop classes, with milongas both
Saturday and Sunday nights. We already have a good number of dancers
registered from other states and anticipate a large number from Santa Fe and
Albuquerque.

All classes will be held at the Lloyd Shaw Dance Center, 5506 Coal Ave. SE
in Albuquerque, NM

Friday, Jan. 13, 7:30-9pm: Expression and meaning in tango: achieving
communication skills through understanding significance (all levels).
Followed by open dancing/practica until 10:30pm

Saturday, Jan. 14, 1:15-2:45pm: Tango Traspie, playing with rhythm,
musicality and connection on the quick beat. (beginning/intermediate)

3:00-4:30pm: The Subtle Milonguero (intermediate)

Sunday, Jan. 15, 2-3:30pm: Body Maps - Make Your Dance Delicious (Int/Adv)

3:45-5:15pm: Neo & Nuevo - What's the Hype? (Int/Adv)  An introduction to
nuevo tango with an emphasis on fun and relaxation. Contrasting with other
styles, we will explore what nuevo might be and choose a signature nuevo
theme to work with. (Advanced).

Milonga Saturday night at RB Winning Coffee House, across from the
University of New Mexico campus and Sunday night at Kelly's Brew Pub.
- All private classes are filled.

Brigitta Winkler lives in New York and Berlin. Trained in ballet and modern
dance, she discovered Argentine tango in 1980. Her teachers in Buenos Aires
have included Juan Carlos Copes, Antonio Todaro, Pepito, Gustavo Naveira,
and Eduardo Arquimbau. With over twenty years of experience teaching and
performing tango around the globe, she is one of the most inspiring and
innovative artists in the tango world today. In class, she has the knack of
unlocking her students' creativity and making tango fun and exciting at any
level. 

Tomás Howlin was born and raised in Buenos Aires where he studied with some
of the most renowned master teachers of all generations, such as Graciela
Gonzalez, Gustavo Naveira, Jose Brahemcha, Puppy Castello, Pepe Avellaneda
and Vanina Bilous. His learning and teaching experience is complete and
exceptional. He is a patient and devoted teacher with a unique method and
approach. Tomás is among the few teachers traveling worldwide who taught
regularly in the most well known Academies of Buenos Aires.

Brigitta & Tomás began teaching together in early 2004; in their own words,
they are "in tango love." The teach showing respect for the dance, the
people attending the workshops and each other, sharing their won connection
with everyone in the room.
