Tango Zen: Walking Dance Meditation
Introductory Workshop

Sunday, January 29, 1:00-4:00 pm
Singles: $20 per class, Couples: $35 per class

Tango Zen is the innovative yet natural idea of meditating while dancing
tango. Building on the striking similarities between the tango dance and Zen
meditation, this workshop will introduce methods of integrating the two
practices. Dancers and non-dancers at any skill level can experience and
enjoy the benefits of Tango Zen. For more information pleas visit

Part I, 1:00-2:30 pm: "Body moves, mind flows"
Introduction to basic concepts of Zen meditation, breathing and posture,
exercises for establishing mindfulness and connection with one's partner and
music. Focus on centering, weight-shifting and walking in close embrace.

Part II, 2:30-4:00 pm: "Tango Zen mind, beginner's mind"
Focus on converging mind and body by practicing simple tango movements with
mindfulness.
