February 24-26, 2006
Facundo and Kely Posadas are among the best-loved teachers of Argentine Tango
in the world. Their warm, down-to-earth teaching style beautifully compliments
their elegant tango and especially their incomparable milonga. They are
Masters of one of the forms of early tango called the Candombe, which is an
African-derived rhythm that is based on remnants of African music and dance
brought by the Africans arriving at the Rio de la Plata in the late nineteenth
century. Facundo and Kely have lived through the history and evolution of
tango. They will share their unique insights about the development of the dance
and music and how they survived within the framework of the tumultuous history
of Argentina.

They will be teaching a full day of milonga workshops, the modern version
of Candombe, on Saturday, February 25 at Northern Kentucky University Student
Center. On Sunday, February 26, Facundo and Kely will teach tango and tango
waltz. All workshops will be at NKU. Facundo and Kely will dance an
exhibition of tango and milonga Saturday evening at the Gala.
