Yes, that is correct, Carlos Copello (artistic
director/producer/choreographer of the stage show “Soy tu Tango”, one of the
actors/dancers in the “Tango Lesson”, producer of five classic instructional
videos, and director/teacher/owner of his own tango school in Buenos Aires)
will be teaching three separate master classes at this year’s Portland
ValenTango Feb 16-20, 2006.

Carlos is in demand all over the world and this is a great opportunity to
meet and take lessons with one of the most famous tango dancers and teachers
of our time. (For more details about Carlos see his web site at:
http://www.carloscopello.com/historia1.htm). Here is a schedule of his
classes:

Sunday Feb 19, 2006:
5:30-7:00 PM Intermediate: Sequences from his performance in the movie
“The Tango Lesson”

Monday Feb 20, 2006:
1:00-2:30 PM Intermediate: Close embrace combinations for the dance
floor.
3:00-4:30 PM Advanced: Carlos Copello’s favorite steps and moves

(Also, Carlos will perform Friday evening at the milonga and will attend and
be available at the Friday supervised practica 4:30-6:30 PM.)

NOTE, these three classes are separate from the regular ValenTango workshops
series and the cost is $25/person for each class. (Series pass for all
three classes is $65.) Sorry, I’ve not yet had time to put this info on my
web site. You can pre-register for Copello’s classes at the ValenTango
registration desk, thru email (VISA, MasterCard, or Discover), mail me a
check, or go onto my web site and use paypal (just put in the options box
what you are registering for).

Hold on, you may be thinking, I can’t stay Monday ‘cause I have to get back
home for work. Well…don’t forget that Monday is a holiday in the U.S.
(Presidents Day), and also, we have a special Polynesian Dinner Milonga
Monday evening to entice you to stay. Hugo Chang (owner of Paradise
Ballroom, famous N.W. mushroom dealer and chef extraordinaire
(http://www.portlandtribune.com/archview.cgi?id=28222) will be preparing a
special menu: roast pig, roasted herb chicken, mushroom soup, sautéed
mushrooms, salad, baked portabella mushrooms, rolls, and appetizer. On top
of that, Portland’s own popular Robert Hauk will be DJing. Sounds like a
great tango evening to me and all for just $20. (You can also pre-pay for
this event.)

…hope to see you in February!!!
