Robert has many years of experience teaching tango. His main influence is Susanna Miller. He has taught at many festivals and in many cities throughout the US. He is in great demand as a teacher. We are very fortunate that his busy schedule allows him to join us this year! Portland is known for its high level of tango dancers. Robert, along with many others, is a major force in creating fine dancers and building the tango community in Portland. He is a pioneer, bringing close embrace tango, the way it is danced in Buenos Aires, to the northwest part of the United States. In part, because of his influence and those like him, this close-embrace way of dancing tango has caught on and is now flourishing throughout the United States. There are very mature well-developed tango communities in San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Denver, Minneapolis and many smaller communities because of the efforts of Robert Hauk and others like him. Now he is coming to North Florida to share his deep insights and understanding of tango with tango dancers in the Southeast. We welcome tango dancers from Gainesville and all around the area: Tampa, Orlando, Melbourne, Sarasota, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, and St. Augustine, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm, as well as Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
