2nd Annual Milonguero Workshop with Alicia Pons from Buenos Aires.
This workshop includes:

The Venue:
All workshop events & milongas at Urban Breath Studio, located at 1320 Lucas
Ave. ( 1-block north of Washington), in the heart of the Art and Loft
district. Rustic hard wood floor, exposed brick walls, and a beautiful retro
glass brick window make this the perfect urban sanctuary for this weekend's
workshop and milongas.
Friday March 10 - Milonga del Abrazos featuring DJ Korey Ireland
8:30 p.m Doors Open, registration;
9:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. Party & Milonga

Saturday, March 11
12:00 pm doors open; registration
12:30 - 2:00 p.m. Women's Adornments. How to transform presence into
grace and style with adornments and the precise use of feet and
ankles. Ladies, Alicia is renowned for her footwork!
2:30 - 4:00 p.m. Mastering Body Language. Talking with your body
through clear weight changes, balance, shared axis, and connection to
your partner.
4:30 - 6:00 p.m. Stop steps: Creative variations when the line of
dance halts. Use of rhythm steps (amague or fakes) that can go from
tango to milonga.
9:00- p.m. - 1:00 a.m. Milonga de Sabado featuring DJ Kathy McGeeney
Special Performance by Korey Ireland (Kansas City) & Mila Vigdorova (Moscow)

Sunday, March 12
1:00 - 2:30 p.m. Milonga Milonguero. Dance milonga like the
milongueros & milongueras in Buenos Aires. Use of amagues; dancing
in crowded spaces.
3:00 - 4:30 p.m. The Seductive Conversation Continues.
A continuation of Alicia's most popular class. Men, learn how to
please a woman on the dance floor! More on creativity in pauses and
silences. Dance to Pugliese Alicia Pons style.
4:30 - 6:00 p.m. Combinations: Ochos with pivots, boleos and
sacadas in milonguero style; respecting the space on the dance floor.
6:00 - 9:00 pm Soulard Milonga featuring DJ Carter Maier
St. Louis' longest running milonga @ the Soulard Coffee Garden. Enjoy the
friendly atmosphere and dance to Argentine Tango plus sets of salsa & swing.
The Coffee Garden is also a great place for dinner after the workshop!
Monday, March 13 Guided Practica with Alicia Pons
8:00 - 10:00 pm at the Monday Club
Alicia & Roxanne will be available to answer questions on the things you
are working on or learned in the workshop. This is not a class to introduce new
material rather a chance to work out the kinks on things you have perhaps been
struggling with or to explore new ways to put it all together. This is multi
level as everyone will be working with the partner they brought
Alicia will also be available for private lessons from March 10-20th.
