Fernanda Ghi and Guillermo Merlo are world renowned Tango artists &
partners in life, as well. They have dazzled audiences all over the world
with
their virtuoso dancing. They share a vision of bringing Tango into the 21st
century & using it to explore the complex relationships between a man & a
woman.
"Ours is a Tango for today. We try to communicate the feelings & emotions &
the relationship of the people we bring to life through our Tango," they
say. They have appeared in such shows as Tango Vivo & Tangoing and were
featured in Tango Magic which was recorded by Sony Productions in New York
City.
They competed in the Ballroom World Championships & earned the title of World
Champions in the Argentine Tango Division. As reigning Tango champions, they
toured the Middle East, opening new doors for Tango in countries like Israel
and Egypt. Performances throughout Europe followed & their unique style of
dancing Tango earned them superb notices.
Fernanda and Guillermo have been dancing since they were 8 years old. Both
have had extensive training in classical & modern dance with some of the top
coaches in that genre. However, they found their hearts belonged to Tango so
they focused their attention entirely on Tango & studied with some of the
most famous names, including, Gloria & Eduardo, Juan Carlos Copes, Maria
Nieves, as well as from milongueros Juan Bruno, Rodolfo & Maria Cieri, Pocho
Pizarro, Pepito Avellaneda & Celia Blanco. Combined with their classical
ballet &
modern dance training, they have developed their own distinctive & passionate
style of dancing Tango. For them, Tango is their life. Fernanda says, “
It's my life. It's the only thing where I feel like everything is complete.
I don't need anything more. I'm alive!" Guillermo says, "It's hard to
explain...when I heard the music, something happened to my skin."
