  Antonio Todaro and Razl Bravo
(Master of the masters)

Throughout the history of tango there have been many different dancers who
have been very important, that have had an influence on changing the dance and
advancing the dance. But in the 1940s and the 1950s especially there were two
men who were very important, they were instrumental in advancing tango. Their
names were Antonio Todaro and Raul Bravo. These teachers that were milongueros
they used to practice together and they would invent many different figures and
many steps that today we now take for granted. Many paradas, sandwhiches,
boleos, ganchos, things that we do every day. But what we need to realize is
that most of these combination of steps were invented over fifty years ago from
these masters and they had a tremendous influence on the way this dance
evolved. Later on in history in the 1970s, 1980s they taught some of the most
important and the best tango dancers that we have travelling the world today,
teaching and performing.
They created a system that was called the Todaro-Bravo System for dancing
tango.
