Carlos & Maria Rivarola will be visiting and teaching in Sacramento, California
May 4th through 7th. Stars of the original "Tango Argentino" show in the mid
eighties which began the revival of tango world wide Carlos has become renown as
a choreographer and teacher of tango to the world. Teaching their delightfully
smooth and elegant style of tango. Classes include:
Thursday, May 4th:
7:00 to 8:30 pm - All levels: Tango Fundamentals, understanding and
using
technique to interpret and give more cadence to Tango, Milonga & Vals. Followed
by práctica.
Friday, May 5th:
7:00 to 8:30 pm - Intermediate - Tango: Using the crossed salida to the
right of the man combined with giro (turn) with adornments for ladies and
gentlemen.
Saturday, May 6th:
2:30 to 4:00 pm - Intermediate-Advanced: Milonga, cadence, traspie
(rhythm
changes) with double giro, traspie walking. Fun with milonga.
4:15 to 5:45 pm - Intermediate-Advanced: Tango Salon, elegance, walking
with cadence and right position of feet. Technique for proper embrace in the
giro (turn).
Sunday, May 7th:
1:30 to 3:00 pm - Advanced: Tango, technique for sacadas
(displacements),
ganchos (hooks), and voleos (boleos), within the giro (turn). How to do it with
the music.
3:15 to 4:45 pm - Advanced: Vals Criolla (Waltz), Technique for enrosque
(coil)and giro (turn). Combination double enrosque and gancho. How to do it with
the music.
