Woodstock Tango welcomes internationally acclaimed tanguero ARMANDO
ORZUZA for his first visit to the arts colony, SATURDAY, APRIL 29TH, for
afternoon workshops and evening milonga , held at the Mountain View
Studio, Mountain View Avenue, Woodstock NY.

Afternoon Workshops and Evening Milonga:

3p-4:30p: Tango Essentials  All Levels: Lead and follow with fluidity,
gently, softly, containing two bodies in one center, body tension
adjustments, body contact to understand distances, amount of energy,
directions and soul communication.

4:45-6:15p: Intermediate Workshop - Adding color, texture, dynamism and
elegance to your dancing. Understanding variations in the music. Finding
your own style. Playful techniques to give you freedom to improvise and
develop your own expression of the dance; Combinations & Links-
Combining steps, directions, syncopations, graduation on the
speed/energy and adorning the dance.

8p-9p: Musicality group class, all levels  taught by Armando!
9p- Milonga, with Demo by Armando Orzuza
Milonga only - $15 (includes intro lesson, dance demo, Buffet & wine,
door prizes)
DJ Ilena playing the great classics of tango, plus salsa breaks!

STUDIO on Mountain View Avenue, in the heart of the Woodstock, in the
Hudson Valley Catskills, just two hours from NYC, one hour from
Poughkeepsie or Albany.

Armando is highly respected among his peers as well as students in North
and South America, Europe and Japan. Recent work includes Robert Duvals
film Assassination Tango (lead male dancer) Alan Parkers Evita
(performer & choreography) , and choreography for Madonnas 2005
Re-Invention tour. Known simply as one of the best and most elegant of
Tango Argentino dancers, Orzuza is an exemplar of the originality and
sentimientos of Golden Age tango for social dancing, while thrilling
audiences with his powerful, modern performances.

A generous teacher who has performed and taught all over the world since
discovering tango at age 14 in his native Buenos Aires, Orzuza has
created and produced a number of tango shows with his partner Daniela
Arcuri, including appearances with Julio Iglesiass Tango Tour and
featured performances on the Solo Tango TV channel, viewed in 17 countries.

Orzuza will conduct two afternoon workshops starting at 3p, will conduct
a group class on musicality at 8p before the milonga and will perform a
demonstration at the evening milonga which starts at 9p.


WOODSTOCK TANGO was founded in January 2004 by Ilene Marder, and hosts
weekly classes, monthly workshops and milongas with internationally
renowned dancer/teachers from Buenos Aires and New York City. It is the
first and only organization in Ulster County hosting ongoing Argentine
tango events and is the only organization in the Mid Hudson region to
regularly host monthly visits by internationally acknowledged masters of
the dance.
