Los Angeles Debut Visit, Thursday-Sunday, June 1-4, 2006
Since beginning their first US tour four months ago, Andrés Amarilla
& Meredith Klein have been making
a splash in tango communities throughout the country. From New York
City and Philadelphia to San Francisco
and Portland, students are marveling at Andrés and Meredith's ability
to make the most complex concepts and
movements accessible—even easy. By explaining the structure of
tango, Andrés & Meredith enable students
to achieve greater creativity in improvisation and greater
independence in creating their own steps.
Andrés & Meredith will be offering a series of classes in the Los
Angeles area as well as a performance at
A Tango Divas' Milonga on Saturday, June 3. Each class will present
a concept or movement from its
fundamental technique to its advanced applications. Because Andrés &
Meredith use traditional tango
technique to execute "nuevo tango" vocabulary, their workshops are
useful to devotees of all tango styles,
from the most traditional to the most experimental.
