Dear Friends of QuinTango,
Join QuinTango and the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra Saturday, 3 June 2006 at
8 pm as the Symphony brings their 2005-2006 season to a climactic ending
with "The Latin American Connection," an all Latin pops concert, conducted
by Music Director William Hudson. This family-friendly musical journey to
Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, and Mexico features world-traveled,
critically acclaimed QuinTango with exhibition tango dancers;
Colombian-born guitarist, composer and arranger Mauricio Perdomo performing
his own works; and the winner of the 2005 Feuer Memorial String
competition, Henry Flory, performing the virtuoso showpiece"Carmen Fantasy."
QuinTango and the Fairfax Symphony join forces for Piazzolla's "Libertango"
and Carlos Gardel's "Por una Cabeza." Dancers Emilie Tobias & Harby
Gonzalez join QuinTango for "Tanguera", "La Cumparsita" and "Canaro en
Paris." Dancer-actress Carina Losano is featured soloist for the Astor
Piazzolla-Horacio Ferrer masterpiece "Balada para un Loco."
The concert will be performed at the George Mason University Center for
Arts and is sponsored by the Inter-American Development Bank. Tickets range
from $30 to $50 and may be purchased by phone through Tickets.com at
