DIEGO YEPES of Buenos Aires has been deejaying and organizing milongas for over 12 years in Buenos Aires. He will share his extensive knowledge of deejaying and insider's knowledge of the milongas of BsAs in a special workshop THIS SUNDAY, JUNE 4.
Diego has also taught at the Festival Internacional de Tango Argentino in Buenos Aires for the past 4 years. He has also taught at the National Academy of Tango, Club Almagro, La Ideal, El Beso, and La Academia de Susana Miller. His deejaying credits include Club Almagro, La Ideal, and El Beso. DJ WORKSHOP ----------- SUNDAY, June 4, 3:00-4:30pm, Wilkins School, 7604 Charleston Ave. Topics include: - the role of the DJ - what is a "danceable tango", using objective measures - music selection, including alternative music - characteristics of different orchestras - how to keep the energy up - conditions for milonga - deejaying equipment Students will be asked to make up their own tanda to be played at the Twilight Milonga that night (Pitt Student Union 7-10pm)!
