>From the Pittsburgh Tangueros and the CMU Tango Club July 28-30 Adam "Hoop" Hoopengardner (New York) returns to Pittsburgh to teach, dance, and DJ. All classes take place at CMU University Center, 5000 Forbes Ave, 2nd Floor. Directions: At Forbes and Beeler, enter CMU campus at the main Visitors Entrance; park in the garage (free). The University Center sits at the near end of the sports field directly behind the garage.
SCHEDULE Friday, July 28: CMU University Center, Student Activities Room, 2nd Floor 7:00 - 8:15pm Tango Fundamentals: walking, connecting, the embrace, the music. All levels. Includes practica afterwards. 8:15 -10:00. Practica. Bring your tango questions and get personal pointers on your dance. $5 to those not in the class. Saturday, July 29: CMU University Center, Rangos Ballroom, 2nd Floor 11:30 - Noon Sign up and warm up. Adam will structure his classes to our abilities, using different exercises to help us explore the dance. 12:00 -1:30 Subtleties of some common elements. Changing ochos, turns, and crosses in ways that make your dance more dynamic. Int/Adv. 1:45 - 3:00 Milonga turns. Basic knowledge of milonga assumed. 3:15 - 4:45 Tango Fundamentals: walking, connecting, the embrace, the music. All levels. Saturday Night Milonga: 9:00 pm - 1:00 am. With DJ Hoop, downtown at the Dance Cafe. Refreshments provided. $10/$7 with student ID. The Dance Cafe is located at 120 Sixth Street (across from the Byham Theatre). Parking: Free on street, or $5 flat fee in the Fort Duquesne 6th Street Parking Garage (cut through the garage lobby to go directly into the cafe). Sunday, July 30 A one-hour small group class musicality can be arranged Sunday afternoon at WSCC. $10 each for a minimum of 4 people, plus $15/floor fee. You would need to put together 3 people you would like to learn with. Limited privates (single or double) are available at Sarah's in Forest Hills. $40/hour.
