From the movies Evita and The Tango Lesson, Hugo "El Gato" Valdez, and his partner Andrea Monti, are simply among the world's finest dancers and teachers of the tango. They dance "Tango Salón" with refinement and distinction, and have a reputation for elegance, technique and musicality. They have become real representatives of the typical tango "porteño," and have made numerous Tango Tours both nationally and internationally including performances in Theatres, Tango Bars, and Milongas "porteñas" such as "Bar Sur", "Palacio San Miguel", "Café Homero Manzi", "El Club del Golf", "El Club Torcuato Tasso", El Parakultural, La Pulpería, Salón Canning, La Nacional, and Glamour (W.A) among others.

They are not only excellent dancers but also excellent teachers. Thorough and dedicated, they know how to break patterns and technique down for students. They have developed a teaching method based on posture, balance, axis, weight change, rhythm and especially the tango walk, emphasizing interpretation of the music, and encouraging students to express their feelings when dancing. They have taught in Argentina, Brazil, the United States, including the 2004 Portalnd Tango Fest, Central America, Europe, including the Valencia Tango Festival 2004, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
