Happy holiday to all of my tango friends.

It is my pleasure to announce that the instructors for the Chicago Mini Tango
Festival, to be held April 20-22, 2007, will be Oscar and Mary Casas (Buenos
Aires/Toronto), Maximiliano Gluzman and Milva Bernardi (Buenos Aires), and
Pedro "Tete" Rusconi" and Silvia Ceriani (Buenos Aires).

Background of the instructors is as follows:

  Oscar and Mary Ann Casas
Oscar grew up in Buenos Aires, breathing tango. His father was a milonguero
who organized milongas in Parque Patricios, the original tango "barrio". Oscar
is a well-known figure in the milongas in Buenos Aires, and his distinctive
style is greatly admired by other milongueros. He is well-complemented by his
partner in dance and life, Mary Ann Casas, who has been passionate about tango
since she discovered it eleven years ago.

Together they have taught workshops and private lessons in Buenos Aires,
Toronto, and several American cities. Oscar's unique approach to teaching and
his charismatic personality have impressed and delighted students everywhere.
He puts his heart and soul into his classes, and his students respond in kind.

For more information on Oscar and Mary Ann, see their webpage,
www.tangoargentino.ca, an or view some of their videos of their exhibition and
classes at www.tangovideoproject.com (go to teachers - Oscar Casas).

  Maximiliano Gluzman and Milva Bernardi
Maxi Gluzman and Milva Bernardi are two young milongueros from Buenos Aires.
They represent the new generation of Milonguero style dancer. The tango that
Maxi and Milva transmit is based upon communication between the dancers in a
continuously close embrace, musical interpretation, and respectful navigation
on the dance floor. Consequently, their lessons are based on posture, leading
and following, and musicality as a source of creativity.

Milva has taught classes with renowned milongueros such as Enrique Rosich,
Ruben Harymblat, Ricardo Vidort, Raul Poli, and the world famous "Tete". Maxi
teaches at Susana Miller's La Academia in Buenos Aires at all levels, as well
as with Milva. Maxi is one of the organizers of the 1st International
Milonguero Festival to be held in Buenos Aires in February 2007
(www.milongueandoenba.com.ar).

Pedro "Tete" Rusconi and Silvia Ceriani
Pedro "Tete" Rusconi is the foremost teacher of the close embrace style of
Argentine Tango ("milonguero style"). Since 1995, Tete and Silvia have been
dancing and teaching together. They have toured throughout Germany, France,
Switzerland, Italy, Holland, Spain, Belgium, Sweden, and the United States
(Ohio and Arizona), offering group and private lessons, and exhibitions or
performances and being part of Tango Festivals. They prioritize their
attention to the musical compasses, the sensibility of the body, and the
liberty of the movement. Their tango waltz classes are worldwide highly
appreciated. Tete is noted for his individual style of musicality, and the
tango of the golden era of the 1940's and 1950's.

Tete and Silvia have two instructional videos, produced by Bridge to Tango
(www.tangocatalogue.com). They are also mentioned in several tango books,
including Paul Pellicoro's "Paul Pellicoro on Tango" (2002), where he discusses
the stars of tango and includes Tete and Silvia.
