Please mark your calendars for the first Purdue tango weekend "Tango your way to Purdue" from Friday 04/13/2007 to Sunday 04/15/2007 in West Lafayette, IN.
We will be hosting Homer & Cristina Ladas from San Francisco, and Somer Surgit & Agape Pappas from Turkey/Chicago at the Purdue Campus for the weekend of April 13th -15th. There will be seven workshops, a practica, and three great Milongas with the DJ's Joe Grohens, Somer Surgit, and Homer Ladas! Tango dancers of all levels are encouraged to attend workshops and Milongas. ** The instructors:* Homer & Cristina Ladas: Homer and Cristina started their tango obsession long before they met each other. Each with over 10 years of experience emphasizing a fusion of social tango ideologies... As teachers they are committed to creating a positive class environment where small epiphanies can & do occur in their students. It has been said, on more than one occasion, that few dancing couples improvise with such skill, personality, and fluidity of movement. Married since May 2002 they continue to explore deeper facets of their relationship to each other and to tango. Somer Surgit & Agape Pappas: Somer has studied tango with Metin Yazir in Turkey. Together with Agape they have studied extensively with Gustavo Naveira & Giselle Anne, Cecilia Gonzalez and Chicho Frumboli in Buenos Aires.
