Dear Tango Aficionados, Dance of the Heart is very happy to announce, for your tango enjoyment:
"An Integral Tango Encounter with TOMAS HOWLIN AND NOEL STRAZZA". Friday February 16 - Monday February 19, 2007 Featuring Workshops and Performances in Boulder and Denver This "Integral Tango Encounter" with these virtuosos is the second event in a new series for us: a structured, wide-ranging exploration of the many cultural currents and perspectives within the rich tradition of Argentine Tango social dance and music. TOMAS HOWLIN needs no introduction to many of you - he was one of the pioneering Argentine traveling teachers to truly leave his mark on our Colorado tango community. He's visited us many times over the years, both by himself and also partnering in workshops with both Florencia Taccetti and Chantal Dauphinais, and also with our own Deb Sclar for a memorable teaching stint at the Denver Memorial Day Milonguero Festival in 2005. It was our pleasure to introduce him to Brigitta Winkler, with whom he's been teaching and performing at many festivals over the past several years. Native of Buenos Aires, Tomas brings to us the lessons of his eleven years of teaching and performing in Argentina, North America and Europe. He dances and teaches authentic Argentine Tango, and has been privileged to study with the greatest teachers of all time. His knowledge and pedagogy are unique and exceptional. Tomas believes in a natural, comfortable and thoughtful tango; a way of dancing that is unique for each person. Currently one of the most sought-after and popular teachers in North America, Tomas is appreciated for his sharp eye, gentle humor and accessibility. NOEL STRAZZA, born in Buenos Aires, studied contemporary dance as a youth. She was a member of the Contemporary Dance Ballet of the theatre San Martin from 1995 to 1998 and also worked as an assistant choreographer. She began dancing Argentine Tango in 1997. Through her talent and dedication, she rose rapidly in the world of Argentine Tango, teaching and performing with the famous Pablo Veron (star of the seminal 1997 movie "The Tango Lesson") in Europe, Australia, Asia and North America from 2000 to 2005. Noel now lives in Montreal where she regularly performs, choreographs and teaches with Tomas. Online Registration and Class Schedule is also available at www.danceoftheheart.com. SPACE IS LIMITED!!
