About the historian and researcher: Anton Gazenbeek is a world-renowned tango historian with many years of in depth research and investigation into the roots of tango dance, history, and culture. He has studied tango like a scientist and has traveled as far as Japan , Korea , and China to give one-of-a-kind lecture rich in historic value. He has presented lectures and shows based on the history and evolution of tango in many cities around the world including Buenos Aires , Tokyo , Osaka , Nagoya , Seoul , New York City, Washington D.C. , Los Angeles , San Francisco , Houston , Boston , and many more. Anton has given lectures in Carnegie Mellon University , the Museum of Fine Arts Houston and in the New York City Summer Tango and Film Festival. In October 2006 he was invited to coordinate the historical lectures in the World Tango Festival in Buenos Aires where he gave historical presentations together with Maria Nieves, Gloria and Eduardo, and other legendary tango dancers. He is owner of one of the largest and rarest tango video collections in the world and has spent many, many years collecting all types of material related to tango. He has published numerous articles in online publications and magazines (such as El Tangauta and La Milonga Argentina , Explore Dance USA , and Tango Kultur Germany ) and is internationally respected. Rare one of a kind films of the creator of tango al revés, Arturito practicing the dance form in the 1960s as well as images of Antonio Todaro dancing in the 1970s and 1980s. March 10th - Women of Tango Lecture on the most important female tango dancers of all time: Carmencita Calderon, Elvira de Virulazo, Maria Nieves, Milena Plebs, Ines Borquez, Vanina Bilous, Aurora Lubiz, and Giselle Anne. March 17th - Milongueros of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s History of the milonguero dancers Fino and María Teresa, Victor and La Rusa, Carlos Sancinella, and Miguel and Nelly Balmaceda with rare films of them dancing in old Milongas and social dance halls in Buenos Aires . March 24th - Tango Argentino Show History of the most important international tango show with images from the original show, historical background information, and behind-the-scenes looks at the artists that made the show so unforgettable.
