I have the pleasure of announcing a very special performance. On Monday, April
30th, the 73 year old milonguera, teacher, and organizer of Viejo Correo
milonga in Buenos Aires, Nina Balbuena will give a special exhibition with the
young dancer and tango historian Anton Gazenbeek. Nina, who from 1989 to 1994
was one of the assistants of Maestro Antonio Todaro in his dance academy, will
perform with Anton a dance in memory of that great master using many of his
figures.

Nina is a cancer survivor and is at the moment going through a very difficult
and costly chemotherapy session for her recurring cancer, so we encourage all
to come and support her in this rare public performance. Her ordeal with cancer
began with ear cancer, spread to her back, breasts, and then bones. Nina is a
beloved member of the Buenos Aires milonga community and she has been
organizing Viejo Correo (Thursdays @ 10:00 pm, Av. Diaz Velez 4820) for many
years, making it one of the most successful and traditional milongas in the
city. She is known for her contagious joy and happiness, despite her hardship
and health difficulties.

This performance will truly be an inspiration to people of all ages, once
again proving that tango is the dance of life, gives life, and is as always, a
dance for all ages.
