FINALIST COUPLES!! True Champions.

GAYATRI - CELEBRATE TANGO
To all of our friends and supporters,
It is with a deep gratefulness for your support and yet a
bittersweet sadness that I must report to you all that we did not,
alas, enter into the greater promised land as victors in the Tango
Salon championships here in Buenos Aires. Cyrena and I did our best
to represent Tango in NYC and in the US in the finals held here
today but fell short of the image the judges felt best represented
their criteria for highest honors this year. The 1st Place
Championship was awarded to a young wonderful couple from Buenos
Aires while another 7 of the remaining 10 victors were also from
Tango's capital. A beautiful couple from Italy also were awarded
honors among the top 10. It was a very strong group of victors very
deserving of their place in this year's competition.
This has been a wonderful and exciting experience and I thank you
all for your gracious and ever-present support. Without your sell-
wishes, emails, phone calls, crossed fingers, prayers and boundless
submission of positive energy this would not have been at all the
experience it has turned out to be. I very much appreciate your
presence along with us through these events, your support and
encouragement in NY and your continued gifts of friendship wherever
we have been. With all of that we were able to make it to these
finals which I believe has been a significant accomplishment.
Hopefully next year we can arrive here again to give it another try
and to do even better. With your support and encouragement, I'm
sure either Cyrena and I or some other deserving couple will be
given an equal opportunity to come represent our country and Tango
in the US at this important event.
Again, to all of you, my deepest and fondess thanks and well wishes
for a happy future. If you dance, may you continue to Tango to your
hearts content. If you don't, may you continue to find joy in all
your endeavors.
