At 10 pm E.S.T, at least in NYC, NET is presenting a charming series of short films called ³Reel New York² and one film and one film is the lovely "Tango Octogenario"--all of 7 minutes. It has been in 30 film festivals around the world! It features a beloved NYC couple, Jean and Alex Turney. We lost Jean two years ago, but Alex, who, this year has been a "double ocho", as he puts it, is now able to dance up a storm and makes many tangueras very happy. We will soon celebrate his 89th birthday--and his 22nd year of dancing tango, starting at age 67. He is going strong!
