LUIZA PAES studied music since she was six. For many years working in musical education and vocal technique. As a new form of musical expression for her study of Argentine Tango with Norberto Esbrez in Sao Paulo in 1998. Starting as a class assistant in his Sao Paulo studio, she later became his partner.

As “Pulpo & Luiza” they traveled to the United States, Europe and Asia to perform and teach tango workshops, also acting as translator.

The focus this visit is on Musicality. We will, of course, be working on technique, mechanics, figures, possibilities and variations, but Luiza is concerned dancers have a lot of vocabulary but lack the understanding of how to use that vocabulary and how to apply it to the music. After all, to Luiza, that's what the dance is all about . . .
