Pedro “Tete” Rusconi is the foremost teacher of the authentic close embrace ‘milonguero’ style of Argentine Tango. His instructional videos are the hallmark for 'close embrace' social dance aficionados. He is often cited in books and articles, for example in this excerpt from the international tango-L list ... "What is now called Milonguero Style, based usually on the personal style of Tete Rusconi, appeared on the scene in 1994. Before that, as we discovered in March, 1987, most people in the center of the city did dance in close embrace, but much simpler, mostly walking and back ochos..... Then in 1994 Susana Miller discovered Tete and began teaching and promoting his personal style as the only 'true' social tango; Daniel Trenner immediately brought this idea to the US, others to Europe. ..."

Tete and his long-time partner, Silvia Ceriani, are social dancers of the highest order, acclaimed by experienced dancers worldwide. They have toured throughout Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, Holland, Spain, Belgium, Sweden and the central United States, offering group and private classes, exhibitions and performances at prominent tango festivals. They concentrate on the musical ‘compasses’ (rhythm, syncopation), the sensibility of the body, and liberty of movement. Their tango vals classes are especially renowned. Tete is noted for his individual style of musicality, and interpretation of the tango from the ‘Golden Age’ of the 1940’s and 1950’s. Silvia is also the DJ at one of Bs As's most famous milongas- Parakultural @ Salon Canning on Monday Nights. I am thrilled to host them in Woodstock and Albany, their only upstate NY appearance this year.
