Dear Tangueros,
It is with tremendous pleasure that I announce the return visit and upcoming workshop with Tango luminary, Roberto Reis - teacher, choreographer, and quite simply one of the greatest Tango dancers of this epoch! Please mark your calendars for the weekend of September 19, 20. and 21. As always, in order to provide the best possible learning experience, we will cap registration at 30 participants or approximately 15 couples. Like so many great Tango dancers of today, Roberto Reis began as a small boy studying Argentine Folkloric Dance. Since that time his career trajectory has taken him through more than 45 countries. He has danced in Tango's most prestigious shows throughout the world and at home in Buenos Aires, and upon the most recognized stages of the world including our own Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Acclaimed not only as a Tango dancer, but as a choreographer, Roberto has been choreographic director for numerous shows, including Piazzola Tango in 2004/2005 and Taconeando, in 2005/2006. Individual choreographic works include: Lo que vendra, the final duet in the show Forever Tango; Libertango for ice dancers Pasha Gritsuk and Evgeni Platov (with which they won the title of World Champions in 1997 and won the Olympic Gold Medal in 1998.) And Los guardianes del angel, a documentary upon the life of Anibal Troilo. As Roberto Reis does not teach often in the States, this is a rare opportunity to study and interact with him in an intimate class setting, with much personalized coaching. I have included the following links so that you may take a moment to view his work - which speaks volumes. But beware...it may prove a portal to infinity as there are many, many other stunning performances to view by the great Tango master! http://youtube.com/watch?v=_Fvps23OGqw http://youtube.com/watch?v=_E0EoYBLPgo More information can be found at www.rincondeltango.net in the Calendar's "Special Events". If you have questions or would like to reserve your place for this exceptional workshop weekend, please contact me at email [email protected] or at cell 520.250.6583. Un abrazo tanguero, Mara _________________________________________________________________ With Windows Live for mobile, your contacts travel with you. http://www.windowslive.com/mobile/overview.html?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_WL_mobile_072008
