It is with great pleasure that we announce Norberto "El Pulpo" Esbrez and Stephanie Lepeu will guest instruct for Somer Surgit and Agape Papas on Wednesday, August 6. They will teach an All Levels (but NOT just for beginners) class, ”Pulpeadas” from 7:30–8:30p at Barba Yianni Grecian Restaurant (4761 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, 60625). The price for the class, including milonga entry, is $20. Somer and Agape's Tango Reaction milonga follows (entry $10 for those not taking the class) from 8:30p-12:00a. Pulpo will again guest teach for the traveling Nina Tatarowicz on Thursday, August 7 at Cafe Duvall (2257 W 23rd Pl, Chicago, 60618). The class "Suspensions" will be from 8:00–9:30p; the price for the pre-milonga class is $15. Milonga Loca follows the class, from 9:30p-12:30a. Entrance to the milonga is $10, $8 for those taking the pre-milonga class. Again, Pulpo will teach two classes on Sunday, August 10: "Variations on Ganchos", 1:00-2:30p; and, "Top Secret new moves from Buenos Aires", 2:45-4:15p. The Sunday classes also will be at Cafe Duvall, and will be followed by the Opposites Attract practica (4:30-7:00p) hosted by Phoebe J Grant and Jacquline Cahill. The Opposites Attract practica is $10 ($8 for anyone taking a pre-practica class with Pulpo or with prior reservation; multi-practica packages also are available). Pulpo still has some time for private lessons while in Chicago: $110 for a couple; $90 for a solo person to study with Pulpo. These rates are quoted per hour and there is a $10 per hour discount for each paid workshop taken July 27 or 28 (limit, 1 discount per each hour). Small group rates also are available.
