Continuing with our theme of preserving authentic tango from the best milonguero maestros of Milonga, we will work this whole month on material from Lampazo. For those who do not know, Lampazo was a great milonguero dancer and teacher who for many years supervised the practica at Sin Rumbo, "La Catedral de Tango" en Buenos Aires. Known for his particular style of milonga, he was one of the first non-professional, social dancer milongueros to travel to Europe and the USA in the early 1990s and taught many young dancers who are important proponents of tango today their first steps. This gave the world a new perspective on tango. Extremely rare films from his private lessons and practicas will be shown and background material of his most popular figures will be discussed each week.
