For creative tango dancers. As there has been unprecedented interest shown in our STAGE TANGO course and as it is now not accepting any more registrations, we have opened a TANGO FANTASIA 12 weeks course for couples only starting February 5th. Every Thursday from 6:30 to 8:00 PM we will work on fun, playful and creative tango figures representing the true tango fantasia of the 1960s and 1970s in Buenos Aires.
What is Tango Fantasia? Tango Fantasia is the form of social dance exhibition. It was the highest form of tango dance before it went to the stage in a professional form. Still an amateur dance, fantasia was based on creativity in each couple, high dance skill and playfulness. Small, informal exhibitions of this style in milongas were commonplace in Buenos Aires i the 1960s, '70's '80s. Tango Fantasia was used later for stage tango routines. Traditional steps and figures will be explored in the course. Couples Only! We accept couples only for this 12 weeks course but do have a list of available single dancers. We do not match up couples however. After this class you have the option to stay to our milonga/vals class, starting 8pm.
