Ruben Harymbat and Enriqueta Kleinman, will be doing workshops in Chicago this Saturday, February 7, and Sunday, February 8. The workshops will be held at Dance Connection, 3117 N. Clybourn, Chicago. The workshops are as follows:
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 7 12:00-1:30 A: More Milonguero Fundamentals (all levels) Caminatas (walks) with flexion. Crosses and crosses with sacadas. Amague with flexion. Ocho milongueros. 2:00-3:30 B: Rotated Ochos and salidas in sequences. (intermediate) Direction of the feet that marks the direction on the floor. 4:00-5:30 C: Milonga (intermediate) 3 steps in one, development of turn, another turn, backwards, and a traspie from a single step SUNDAY, JUNE 8, 12-1:30 D: Musicality. (int.) Difference between cadence, rhythm and compas. How to dance to different orchestras; following the singer, instrument or complete orchestra. Dancing to contrapiano. 2:00-3:30 E: Different ochos (intermediate) How to use them in different sequences within the dance. 4:00-5:30 F: Milonga con Traspie (advanced) Concept; dancing at ½ time. Giros to the left with “Renga’ with flexion and forward (special pattern of Ruben).
