We're having very exciting Argentine Tango workshops on October 2, 3,
4, 2009
with visiting Argentine tango performers/instructors Paula Gurini and
Mariano Biliak, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Paula & Mariano dance a particular and unmistakable style of dancing
while using innovative teaching methods to accelerate the process of
learning the dance. Breaking out from rigid sequences,t heir workshops
provide ways to develop improvisational skills through the use of
simple and dynamic exercises which leads the students to explore ways
to develop an easy, relaxed style of dancing Tango. The communication
takes place between the dancers through the use of connection of their
bodies. Both are excellent teachers, very patient, thorough and
accessible, and you will enjoy learning their elegant style which you

Philadelphia by popular demand. They are sought after in other tango
communities in the USA and Mexico and Europe. Don't miss this unique

Paula & Mariano were born in Benos Aires, Argentina. They began their
Tango dancing career in 1994 when they auditioned and were accepted to
study at the Argentine Academy of Tango Styles learning from the most
important milongueros and tango dancers of the epoch. GERARDO
PORTALEA, EL CHINO PERICO, CARLOS GAVITO, PUPPI CASTELLO, CARLOS and
ROSA PEREZ, EDUARDO PAREJA, EL TURCO JOSÉ, ORLANDO PAIVA, NITO and
ELBA among others. And prestigious stage dancers as GLORIA and EDUARDO
ARQUIMBAUM, MAYORAL and ELSA MARIA, PABLO VERÓN, MILENA PLEBS and
GUILLERMINA QUIROGA.
From the year 2005 and up to today they are members of the ACETA as
attendees. They performed in the COLISEO, CAMPO DE POLO, COLÓN, and
VERDI theaters in Buenos Aires. Other performances in Buenos Aires,
include CAFÉ HOMERO MANZI, TEATRO CERVANTES, TEATRO MAIPO. LUNA PARK
stadium, TEATRO ROMA. They also participed in various shows in Buenos
Aires Tango houses such as the famous CAFÉ TORTONI, CONFITERÍA IDEAL,
ESQUINA CARLOS GARDEL, EL VIEJO ALMACEN Y MADERO TANGO to name a few.
