Live Tango Music and Performance at ProyectArte Benefit, Wednesday, December 9, 6:30-9pm The Argentine Consulate in New York (12 W 56th Street) hosts an evening of wine, empanadas, tango music by Los Chantas and performance by Mariana Galassi and Carlos Canedo to support ProyectArte, one of Argentina's most unique arts organizations. Evening will include holiday gifts silent auction including dining at top restaurants such as Spice Market and James Beard Foundation, technology from Microsoft and Lenovo, and fashion from Proenza Schouler and Custo Barcelona. Evening will conclude with live art auction by Christie's auctioneer. Tickets are $35 and $75. Purchase on www.proyectarte.org/benefit.htm ProyectArte is a Buenos Aires and New York-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to discover, educate, and support a diverse new generation of young emerging artists. At the ProyectArte School in Buenos Aires, a diverse group of 15 to 18 year-olds receive full 18-month scholarships to study with leading visual artists. After 18 months, the most committed graduates have the opportunity to continue their studies and develop their work in a multi-year comprehensive graduate program, as well as to exhibit their work at ProyectArte's Prima Gallery.
