About Daniela ~
I am so pleased to be able to bring Daniela to Woodstock and the Hudson
Valley! She has been a major influence on me for several years...
Daniela has won acclaim as a master teacher, performer and
choreographer. She uses her body to connect and communicate with her
partner in a pure porteña way... her dance is sensuous, dazzling, and
technically superb. She is a GREAT treacher, adept at all styles, always
concentrating on connection, musicality and body dynamics.

3p-4:30p: 'APILADO' & 'VILLA URQUIZA' (Class begins with TECHNIQUE &
TANGO WORK- OUT- tango exercises specifically choreographed for tango
dancers)/
4:45-6:15p: MILONGA LISA (smooth) & TRASPIE (syncopated): Figures,
Rhythm and Fraseo (phrasing, dynamics);
Daniela is a maestra at milonga...not to be missed workshop!
8-9p: Intro to Tango: Walking in Rhythm- How to Get Onto the Tango Dance
Floor with Simple Moves (with Ilene)
9p-1am: MILONGA! DJ La Rubia del Norte! (Classic Tango with
salsa/swing breaks) Buffet & refreshments..

2:00p-3:30p: Followers Technique Workshop- Daniela is known for her
exquisite footwork. Refine and Improve Technique; Embellishments.

DANIELA'S BIO:
A tango teacher, performer and choreographer, Daniela Arcuri grew up in
the heart of Buenos Aires, where she absorbed the English, French,
Spanish and mostly Italian influences that define the cosmopolitan
"porteño" culture of this port city.
She began her professional tango career in her early twenties in a
production with legendary tango dancers Juan Carlos Copes, Maria Nieves,
and Pepito Avellaneda. She then began to teach and choreograph tango in
Eduardo Arquimbau's tango academy in Buenos Aires. Her style developed
as a result of her training in ballet/contemporary dance, and the
influence and instruction from some of the great milongueros of Club
Almagro and Villa Urquiza of Buenos Aires, such as Gerardo Portalea,
Petaca, and Juan Bruno, also Rodolfo Dinzel and Antonio Todaro.
Daniela became renowned with her then-partner Armando Orzuza,
acknowledged as one of the top professional tango couples in the world.
She is now teaching around the U.S. and residing in Austin, TX.
