You can watch two video clips: one is from his workshop in Rome and the other his dance in Kassel, Germany, both in April this year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZGXS5jbaB4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2NMLzhrfzU Chan will share techniques to help beginning dancers to value tango music and its interpretation by movements, and to improve the experience for those dancers who are already familiar with tango by enhancing their sensitivity to partner, navigation in the environment of a milonga and music. Chan’s knowledge and appreciation of tango has been influenced by his dancing experience in the traditional milongas of central Buenos Aires and by the late Ricardo Vidort. During the classes, some video clips and the trailer of Chan’s documentary film on tango will be featured as class materials. TangoZen Workshop in Washington DC Saturday, October 2, 2010 1. UN ARTE DE ABRAZO: 1:30-3:00 PM Tango milonguero is not just dancing tango in close embrace. It involves layers of connection between partners, physical, emotional, and spiritual. MILONGA CON TRASPIE: 3:30 – 5:00 PM Milonga and milonga con traspie are more than dancing fast. Precise interpretation of music and body control for resilient and abrupt movements are the key. SUTILEZA Y PRECISIÓN DE LOS MOVIMIENTOS DEL TANGO: 1:30-3:00 PM Porteños of Buenos Aires move precisely and fluidly, lead and follow with subtlety of a FOX or a CAT, but smile, blissfully while dancing with no apparent effort.
