Dancers of a great scenic presence. World famous teachers and coreographers. Since 1984 Mónica Romero & Omar Ocampo join their individual experiences and began dancing together. They integrate since 1985 until now the show of the master MARIANO MORES. Omar Ocampo is coreographer of some acts of the show. He makes the famous act : “the STRIP-TEASE” (transformation of the argentine gaucho to the compadrito, created for the teacher “CHÚCARO” specially for Omar). They run over with Mariano Mores: Europe (Israel, Holland, Spain, Italy) In 1986 they leaded and danced for one year in the show of JUAN CARLOS COPES: "The Copes Tango Show" in the Hotel Condado Plaza of Puerto Rico, with big success. In Buenos Aires they were artists of “El Viejo Almacén“, “Michelángelo”, “Hotel Sheraton”, with their own ballet of Tango and Folklore or like a guest couple. In 1994, “LOS OCAMPO” were selectioned to integrate the show ␣TANGO PASION␣ of MEL HOWARD, with the prestigious SEXTETO MAYOR, with choreography of HECTOR ZARASPE acting in the most famous Theatres in the world, like: “The Herodian Acrópolis “ of Athens, “Theatre Sistine” of Rome, “Le Strade Louis II” of Montecarlo, “The Kremlim” in Moscow, ”Theatre des Champs Elysèes “ of Paris,“ National Theatre” of Taiwan, , “Coconut Grove Theatre” in Miami, etc.... They have toured round the world alongside The Sexteto Mayor since 1994, until 2004 .. About Monica Orozco: Mónica is currently one of the most influential people spreading the Passion for Tango in Los Angeles. She is the creative force behind various recent tango shows and presentations. Her vast experience, deeply rooted in Argentina, has developed into a style that mixes traditional form with the modern jazz influence of Piazzolla. A consummate performer, she has shared her passion and technique in South America, the U.S., in Europe and in Asia. The daughter of a classical theatrical actor, her artistic enthusiasm was inherent. She learned Tango as a teenager in the Bohemiam-like social clubs of her hometown. Her formal education began an The School of dance education she studied Tango with the Grande Maestro Raúl Bravo. In 1980 she opened a new venue in the heart of Buenos Aires at the Teatro de la Ciudad Vieja (theatre of the Old City). As artistic director she presented more than 20 productions including Argentine and English classics. Mónicas's intensive career in Buenos Aires involved television, film and musical theatre. She appeared in a number of very important works such as: Kurahy with Julio Bocca at the Luna Park, at the Theatre Colón with Cecilio Madanes, and in Evita at the General Theatre of San Martín. She also appeared in the French/Argentine production of Marie Gallant with the dancer Osvaldo Zotto. For three years Mónica performed and brought Argentine music to the farthest reaches of the Orient. Culminating in a performance at the Expo Korea in 1993. Having setted in the United States, her commitent to imparting the passion for Tango continued. She artistically directed An Homage to Cadicamo and An Homage to Piazolla, both in Los Angeles. She performed at the Santa Barbara Historical Society Museum on behalf of the Argentine Embassy, for the World Cup Polo, and the Latin Festival at UCLA with actor Edward James Olmos. She was the choreographer for a Sanyo commercial and was a featured performed on ABC's and CNN's special coverage of Tango events. She recently completed the choreography and performance of Tardeada de Tango for the Red Cat Theatre in the newly completed Disney Hall. Currently you can find Mónica choreographing for The John Anson Ford Amphitheatre, Pacific Dance Company and for the Fox Television Show Soul Food.
