To answer your question, if I didn't know the guy well, I'd stop my boleo before hitting his leg. If he's a friend or if we've been playing a little while during the tanda, I'd smack away. I'd say it's a trust issue. Can't say that I've been led to hit the guy's leg much, though, during milongas. This thread reminds me of something I heard a few years ago. It used to be that men in BsAs would hang their keys from belt or pants. And the women would try to hit the keys to get them to jingle during boleos and possibly ganchos. Anyone else familiar with that?
