My friend Sherwin, I think, is a little low on his estimate of tanguero/as in
the Chicago metro area. I´d put it closer to 500, and certainly 300´'regulars'
with more like 100 'junkies'. With the number of milongas now in Chicago
(including several now in the suburbs), it is impossible for any one dancer to
fully appreciate the 'regulars' who go to one venue or another on a 'religious'
basis.
BTW - writing this on a beautiful morning in Montevideo and am now off to see
candombe in the streets of Malvin;)

Subject: [Tango-L] Census - Don't forget Chicago...

where there are maybe 200 tango dancers of assorted skills and experience and
from one to 4 places to dance any night of the week and I'm guessing say at
least 50 Tango junkies who go dancing more than 3 nites a week and take
lessons and/or go to festivals and congresses(I see them everywhere I go)
