>From a student of Javier (a great walker) who sees walking 'toe first' as 'old
>fashioned'..
  He teaches heel first and his student has the following to say;
  "Don't worry about which way to walk, just walk naturally like you are
walking on the street
  with emphasis on the launching foot. Don't over think it though. It is
difficult to walk naturally
  while having some one in your arm. But that is key: tango as you are walking.
Tango is
   simple. No funny, complicated stuff. Listen to your body in the natural way,
listen to the
  music, then the steps will one day come when you are ready."
    note: toe first usually means the leader cannot step on the toe of the
follower...the student
  of Javier (above) mentions that last night he stepped on the toe of his
follower twice during
   a tanda..the toe first method was first taught by stage dancers...heel first
= Milongueros?
