Does anyone know much about Kizomba? Some people think it's a salsa-tango
blend, but an internet search indicates some roots in semba which comes from
samba. It's a recently developed dance from Angola. Here's a basic steps
video, which shows ochos and box steps.

I also found this website about this dance. What I like is that it
specifically talks about how young people felt like they were missing something
in semba. They added a percussion and called it a new dance, rather than say
that they are evolving semba.

Here's an example of semba.

I found it interesting that the timing of the creation of this dance is similar
to the rise of nuevo tango. However, I'm guessing that the older generation
might not have had an issue with kizomba because the younger people gave it a
different name (though I could be wrong). Golly gee, what could the tango
world learn from this? Hmmm. **scratches chin**
