RICARDO VIQUEIRA
will be teaching workshops at Alberto's in Mountain View on two
Sundays, May 4 & 18.
He is known for his ease, elegance, masterful footwork and musicality
in tango, milonga and vals. Dancing in the milonguero style, Ricardo
emphasizes each dancer's own axis, and their connection to each
other. He has developed simple techniques that help the leader mark
the step and the follower to understand the lead. He teaches his
students the technique to create their own personal style of dance:
to recognize opportunities to change direction, and to move with
musicality, emphasizing pauses and simple rhythmical phrasing.
A native of Buenos Aires, Ricardo Viqueira has always been connected
to the tango: first as a child he studied music at the Conservatorio
Delva then later he began organizing successful milongas, among them
the well known Club Sin Rumbo in Villa Urquiza. Ricardo teaches in
Buenos Aires/Argentina, Italy, France, Switzerland, Spain, and Brazil.
