Jorge Torres, world-renowned Tango Choreographer, Dancer, and
Impresario of dance productions
continues to inspire dancers all over the world as the Captain of the
Dance in Luis Bravo's famous show:
"Forever Tango". The show will be returning to San Francisco's Post
Street Theater for fifteen performances
November 5-16, 2008.
Jorge Torres is amazing to behold on the dance floor, as he dances
with a quiet and smooth yet powerful style.

7:00 - 8:30 pm Workshop: Technique The Walk (All Levels)
Learn sensual Torres-Tango Walking Technique: Preparation and
execution, moment by moment
application of balance, control, poise and timely weight transfer.

2:30 - 4:00 pm Workshop: Technique Ochos (Beg/Intermediate)
Focus will be on the preparation to execute elegant pivots, finding
one's axis, balance,
collection and speed, keeping with the frame while expressing individuality.
4:30 - 6:00 pm Workshop: Technique Giros & Enrosques (Beg/Intermediate)
Using pivots and walking technique the topic of Giros (turns) will
combine the elements of the
previous two workshops, and introduce Enrosques (corkscrew turns) for
both leaders and followers.
Enjoy learning the Torres-Technique behind winding-up and releasing
the energy for powerful, but controlled turns.
6:30 - 8:00 pm Workshop: Technique Displacements & Invasions (Intermediate)
Taking elements of the previous three workshops, walking, ochos and giros,
Jorge will introduce displacements (sacadas) and invasion steps.

WALK-IN students
All workshops have limited spaces. A premium of $5 will be charged
to students who elect
to take the risk of arriving without pre-registering on a daily
basis. Registration on-site will
take up to 10 minutes please arrive with plenty of time to register
and pay before the workshop is scheduled to begin.
