Dear friends of International Tango Festival Ljubljana,
Festival is over, the emotions are calming down, and we are recuperating some sleep – hopefully. As the president of the festival I would like to share my impressions with you. I am very happy that this year too the festival had such a buena onda. While tango is good when improvised, we do not improvise too much with tango festival. We plan details carefully so that you could feel comfortable, welcome, and at home. I hope that you did feel well. Our festival remains one of the most international festivals. Over 20 nations danced in Ljubljana. While we missed some of the friends who really live very far, many of them wrote to us and promised to come the next year. The economic crisis did not influence us strongly, hardly at all. Two friends commented independently told me that our festival is special because tangueros are closely connected with the event. This is the biggest compliment for me. We never wanted to be big, we liked better the close connection. As in tango: less steps, better embrace. Thank you all for being with us, for sharing your emotions, for bringing buena onda to Ljubljana. Thank you for inviting your friends. If you happened to be around, come to Tango bar this Thursday.
