1. Make sure urpmi package is installed (should be automatically).
shell> rpm -q urpmi
2. Verify what sources are currently used:
shell> cat /etc/urpmi/urpmi.cfg
If you see only entries for installation CDs, then continue.
And if you want to change source, use urpmi.removemedia command.
Make sure it doesn't leave any files to /var/lib/urpmi
referring to updates.
3. Add an update source
Define where to get updates. Make sure the path is correct and
applies to your Mandrake version. Also remember to use a fast mirror.
shell> urpmi.addmedia --update updates \
ftp://ftp.club-internet.fr/pub/linux/Mandrake/updates/10.0/RPMS \
with ../base/hdlist.cz
4.
Download and install update packages.
It will ask confirmation before doing anything.
shell> urpmi --update --auto-select
5. Use the following commands later on to keep system up-to-date.
shell>urpmi.update -a
shell>urpmi --update --auto-select
NOTE!!
kernel updates must be applied separately:
shell>urpmi --update kernel
