Hi Francis,

How DO you prove that it's a Tapestry application? Right now, I know only the one method used by Eric Schneider: all our links and URLs just say clearly "this is Tapestry". And I think all here agree that Tapestry's current link structure is not something one would want to imitate for its beauty ;-)

I also don't really see why you doubt that it's done with Tapestry? I'm not in any way affiliated with the Tapestry project, I'm just a user of the framework. Do you think Tapestry would not be up to the job? That would be sad because you'd miss out on a great way of creating applications. But frankly I don't care if you believe me or not. I know I've done it with Tapestry and thought I'd share my experience. You're free to profit from it or ignore it. I'm not going to crusade over Tapestry being IMHO the easiest way to create great web applications.

Well, is the site really created with the Tapestry framework? Where is the proof then? It is a characteristic of a typical Tapestry site that the content attribute has as value the version of Tapestry you used for development. For example at my site you have:
<meta name="generator" content="Tapestry Application Framework, version 3.0"/>
in the head tag.
There isn't anything like it in your pages. Could you clearify?

Subject: Tapestry Site in Action

Hello everyone!

we just launched our dating website partnermine.com. And as we post on this list, it's built on Tapestry and we just LOVE this awesome framework (I suppose most here know what they have with it anyway :-) but it can't be said often enough).

We started out with Struts because it sounded like the standard tool for the job, but it was such a pain. It took us maybe 3-4 weeks to get properly into Tapestry and convert all our old Struts code to Tapestry. It was quite a learning curve (though the Struts one wasn't exactly fun either) and threw us apparently back by a month, BUT I'm certain that in the end it helped us to reduce total development time. We have such a beautifully clean project now - and it's easily maintainable too! It's just a pleasure to work with it and I don't even want to think of the nightmares that Struts or similar frameworks would have given us if we had gone the full way with them.

So, if you who want to have a look, go to http://partnermine.com and look (and if you want to subscribe we'd be happy to welcome you as a user in our small but growing community). But that's not the real reason we're inviting you. We just wanted to show a Tapestry site in action, as it's been quite hard to find examples almost a year ago when we evaluated Tapestry.

Last but not least a big thank you to the master of all things, Howard Lewis Ship, and all the people who have contributed to this wonderful project. This is open source at its best!

Happy Coding!

Bernd
