I built from CVS HEAD this morning on Mac OS X with no problems using this command-line: "ant -Dhivebuild.skip-tests=true"
What problems are you having specifically?

Could someone point me to where I can get 3.1 sources that will work. Note this should not make any difference but I am using mac os x.
