Can you be more specific? I'm a bit new at Tapestry. My component is rendered purely in Java code, so I've fixed my problem by overriding getHtml() in my subclass and putting code in there to get the value I want out of the visit. This is then used to populate the other values I need. It works fine for now, but the lack of re-use might come back and bite me at some point.
