I created a wiki page:
http://wiki.apache.org/jakarta-tapestry/TapestryAndApplets

Basically you use javascript to move data from the applet class to
your tapestry page, using hidden form fields.

I created that page without testing any of the code or anything but it
should give you an idea of how its done.
