Marketing is the process of people who don't fully understand what they are selling , convincing buyers that also don't understand what they want to buy , that the given product is what they need , most of the time through lies .
Mind you , the example below never happened to me when related to software , but more than once i've talked with sales people that had no clue about the more indepth aspects of the product they were selling , and that just answered "yes" to any of my questions . Because if the user / buyer knows what he / she wants and why , then would be no need for marketing ...
