Hi Tarsnap users, Tarsnap now has a logo!
Over the course of October, 83 people submitted over 100 logos, and after six weeks of pestering people with "which of these do you like most?" and "what does this logo make you think of?" emails, I've finally selected a winner. This design, submitted by Bea Cabrera, shows a stack of disks with a key hole -- combining the elements of "storage" and "security" while remaining simple enough to be used in a variety of contexts and sizes. Thank you to everyone who participated in this, whether by submitting logos, critiquing them here (when they were sent to the list), or publicizing the contest via Twitter, Hacker News, and Reddit -- without your help, I would still be struggling to think up ideas. The logo is now on the Tarsnap website -- I hope you like it! -- Colin Percival Security Officer Emeritus, FreeBSD | The power to serve Founder, Tarsnap | www.tarsnap.com | Online backups for the truly paranoid
