I don't know how the code does what it does, but I have paths with leading slashes in my /etc/tarsnaprc.conf: exclude /home/gabriel/tmp and they *do* work: $ tarsnap -t -f 20140601-10-HOURLY-/home home/gabriel/tmp tarsnap: home/gabriel/tmp: Not found in archive tarsnap: Error exit delayed from previous errors. $ tarsnap -t -f 20140601-10-HOURLY-/home home/gabriel/ home/gabriel/ home/gabriel/bin/ [...] (and I'm positive /home/gabriel/tmp already existed when I created this archive.)
